Black Elderberry

Black elderberry berries have an intense and deep aroma. The ripe berries have the perfect balance of sweetness and light tartness. The sweet notes are reminiscent of red grapes, blueberries or blackberries, while the tartness evokes slightly sour flavours such as pomegranate molasses or cranberry, and this special fruit offers a warm and earthy aroma with undertones of cinnamon or vanilla, while leaving a feeling of freshness on the palate. Black elderberry (Sambucus nigra) is a plant often used in traditional medicine, especially against infections such as colds and flu. Some of its properties known to support the immune system are as follows:

1. Rich in Antioxidants

Black Elderberry contains powerful antioxidants (1, 2). These compounds reduce cell damage by fighting free radicals and support the healthy functioning of the immune system.
