The Irresistible Power of Masculine Energy

As you are aware, one of the most popular topics of recent times is the concept of Feminine Energy. Countless content is produced on this subject every day in all channels of social media.

What is Feminine Energy? What can be done to increase the feminine energy? What are the characteristics of the feminine energy? Answers to these and similar questions are constantly being sought.

According to ancient teachings, it is impossible to answer what feminine energy is without understanding masculine energy. Just as it is impossible to understand what masculine energy is without talking about feminine energy. In talking about one, it is absolutely necessary to talk about the other.

In short, the concepts of feminine and masculine energy are the state of complete completeness formed by opposites.

The feminine is stable, nocturnal, creative, intuitive, life-giving, while the masculine is the initiator of movement, physical strength, courage and fire.

The Feminine Energy is the Moon. The Masculine Energy is the Sun.

The feminine and masculine energies allow us to have an adult relationship with life, regardless of our gender.

We need compassion and wisdom, we need to be able to stay in our own centre, to be able to act when the time comes, to be able to withdraw from time to time and be involved in life, to exist in the material world while being interested in spirituality.

Although feminine and masculine energies are often used in relation to gender, it is valuable for a person to learn to survive between their own self/spirit and the material world in order to become an ‘adult’.

What it means to be a woman and what it means to be a man is defined in almost every society.

If we look at feminine and masculine energy from these social definitions, we cannot understand the depth of the human soul.

Women also want to explore, conquer and win. Men also want to be nurtured, to retreat into themselves, to give life. No ‘form’ can exist only by remaining the same. Changing state and form, fluctuating between day and night,

To embody constancy, confidence, adventure and courage is to embody the feminine and the masculine.

To feel complete, adequate and fulfilled in our own unique personality is to balance the feminine and masculine within ourselves.

Let’s take a look at how we can honour the masculine in us:

Take action for your dreams:

You can be the sole heir of the most powerful and richest family in the world. As long as you do not realise your own dreams, as long as you do not realise yourself, you are far from masculine power.

Although masculine energy seems to be an external force, it is actually an internal force; a force that brings one closer to one’s desires, closer to one’s own truth…

This power may have a material equivalent, but the real equivalent is the courage to create one’s own unique world outside.

Remember that life began with the mobilisation of masculine energy. Each of us experiences a micro example of this in our own lives. The most important task of masculine energy is to act; don’t forget this!

Get out of your comfort zone, return to the hero:

You may have heard of The Hero’s Journey by Joseph Campbell, the famous American comparative mythologist and author. The book examines the narrative of the journey and adventure of a person who goes outside the society in which he lives and does great things for civilisation, using religious and psychological references in drama, fairy tales, stories and legends.

Campbell deciphers how an ordinary man becomes a hero on this journey. This pattern is also often used in cinema. For example, The Matrix, The Lord of the Rings, Avatar…

Whether we are women or men, whether we are aware of it or not, each of us has to go on our own journey, to write our own story.

Sometimes life brings us such conditions that this journey becomes a necessity, and sometimes, while living in our comfort zone, we cannot resist the call from within and we leave all safe spaces behind and follow that voice.

And we do it very well.

That voice is precisely the voice of the masculine energy.

To change, to go out with courage, to pursue the unknown, to listen to the call from within are very precious gifts that the masculine energy offers us. That is why it is important to listen to this voice.

Empower yourself internally:

The concept of power can have connotations such as physical power or material power.

Masculine strength is neither; masculine strength is literally inner strength, independent of the situation, independent of material conditions.

Inner strength is the ability to set goals, to focus, to be disciplined, to follow one’s own path unswervingly in the face of distracting factors.

An intrinsically strong person is not easily manipulated. An intrinsically strong person draws motivation from their own being. An intrinsically strong person can be self-referential. Inner strength is not something we can fake.

If we have that power within us, even if we do nothing, the glow of our power will be seen from the outside.

Creating a daily routine in line with your goals, sticking to it, meditating, openly acknowledging your weaknesses and working on them are practices that strengthen us internally.

Recognise your needs:

In the previous chapter, when we talked about inner strength, we said “recognise your weaknesses”. Every weakness actually symbolises an unmet need. If there is a weakness in our system, it tells us that we have a personal story that we need to approach with understanding.

A masculine energy that struggles too much on the outside can turn into a vampire in the sunlight in the face of concepts like weakness and need that weaken it. But if our problem is to have a truly functioning masculine power beyond the outward appearance of strength, we cannot turn our backs on our own reality.

To look after yourself, to take care of yourself, to be able to see where you are stumbling, where you are struggling, and to be able to ask for the support you need, are actually behaviours that take a lot of courage. The masculine energy is courage itself.

Express your feelings:

You know the Yin-Yang sign; in the black Yin there is a white dot representing Yang and in the white Yang there is a black dot representing Yin.

Yin represents feminine energy and yang represents masculine energy. When we talk about masculine energy, it would be against the nature of things to leave out the black dot in the masculine, which is the feminine energy.

The world of emotions is seen as a feminine sphere and emotions are seen as harmful to masculine energy. However, emotions are messengers that come to us from the depths of our soul.

It is very important to understand our own emotions without suppressing them in order to be strong and to receive messages from them in order to improve our emotional literacy.

A person who knows himself well does not avoid expressing himself.  Our emotions do not make us weak, on the contrary, they teach us a lot about ourselves.

Our anger, fear, guilt, shame, joy and curiosity are our most important companions on our heroic journey.
